Kirnu

2014

The theme of design process was to study household items’ longevity. The result is Kirnu, a set of five containers with lids for being part of basic functions of a kitchen: cooking, serving, eating and storing. Five different materials form material pairs where each part also has its own function. The visually minimalistic containers are combinable and stackable.

Kirnu is named after potholes, or “giant’s kettles”, that are formed into rocks over time when different elements meet.
